Agraria Riva del Garda currently accounts for about 65% of the extra virgin olive oil production of Lake Garda Trentino.
There are 80 olive grower members and each batch of olives is processed individually and cold pressed.
The total number of olive trees controlled by Agraria is about 85,000 on a total of 270 hectares.
The oil mill was founded in 1965 and to this day is considered one of the most innovative plants in its sector. It is continuously updated with customised modifications according to the needs of the current oil year.
A flagship for the production of Garda Trentino D.O.P. extra virgin olive oil that has been in operation since 1998, since 2009 it has also been BIO certified for the processing of the area’s organic produce.
The territory of Lake Garda Trentino
Lake Garda is a special territory with an unusual climate, which is mitigated by the breezes that come from the lake, contrasting the harsh climate of the Dolomites.
A true Mediterranean microclimate within an Alpine context, in winter the lake cools very slowly, giving the surrounding area a very mild and temperate climate compared to its high latitude.
The continuous alternation of temperate and cold breezes creates excellent conditions for olive cultivation.
All this had already been known and exploited since ancient times by the Celts and Romans, who first planted olive groves over 2000 years ago.
The 46th parallel is the northernmost area in the world currently exploited for the production of extra virgin olive oil, where thanks to the knowledge and experience of the company’s agronomists, it is possible to exploit a very difficult terrain to create true products of excellence.
So much so that Agraria di Riva’s various extra virgin oils have won numerous awards at both national and international competitions over the years.
