The Calvi oil company was founded in 1921 in Imperia by Giuseppe Calvi. Today the tradition continues thanks to the heirs Giovanni and Luca together with a team of expert collaborators.
The company’s guiding principle has always been to try to offer the best possible quality to the end consumer, starting with Taggiasco extra virgin olive oil and ending with all the other typical Ligurian products.
The oil mill is located in Pontedassio near Imperia.
All the olives during the harvest period arrive daily at the mill in the late afternoon to be pressed immediately in the evening and night.
We obtain a very high quality Taggiasco evo oil thanks to cold extraction and filtration.
A very important part is the ‘Sant’Andrea’ farm owned by the Calvi family.
Different lots of olive groves are managed in the Imperia hinterland: Valle di Oneglia, Porto Maurizio and in the Diano Marina area.
Each lot is situated at different altitudes with different exposures. In total, the company looks after 2000 trees, all of them exclusively of the Taggiasca variety.
The Taggiasca olives used are almost entirely from the company itself, while another small part comes from small local growers who use the Calvi oil mill to press their micro lots.
